Scouting Buffalo Grove girls basketball
Buffalo Grove
Coach: Pat Dudle (third season)
Last year's record: 10-20, 3-7
Graduated players: Heather Nisbet, Stacey Lialos, Michelle Jackson, Sam McCormack
Returning players: Andrea DiPrima (5-7 Sr. G), KC Dunne (5-7 Sr. G), Emily Georgoulis (5-7 Sr. G), Courtney Poders (5-7 Sr. G), Alanna Zawlocki (5-9 Sr. F), Emily Cho (5-6 Jr. G), Bailey North (6-0 So. F)
Newcomers: Morgan Angotti (5-8 Jr. F), Becca Appelt (5-6 Jr. G), Kelsey Meyer (6-0 Jr. F), Carly Cheever (5-7 So. G), Amanda Salzman (5-6 So. G).
Outlook: Dudle welcomes back seven players from last year's varsity. Five are seniors. “So we are excited about the upcoming season,” Dudle said. The Bison will rely on their experience on the perimeter from seniors Dunne, DiPrima and Emily Georgoulis. Dunne (Western Illinois) and DiPrima (Northwestern) have already made softball verbal commitments. North, who has improved in the offseason after a productive freshman season, will be paired in the post with hardworking senior Zawlocki, one of the top attackers on the volleyball team. Cho and Poders give BG depth at guard. “We hope to challenge for a division title with the understanding there will be no easy games in the Mid-Suburban East,” said Dudle, whose team upset MSL champion Wheeling 49-47 last season. “We should have balanced scoring with players that have many different weapons. There is not one player an opponent can key on.”
