Rec. center would keep teens on path
If there were a place in the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills area that kids could go to and hang out with friends, meet new people, get involved with their community and be active, it could help with many obstacles that teens face each day. A place that gives teenagers somewhere to go and off the streets can make a huge impact on one's life. It could be the difference between a teenage boy making the decision to sell drugs the rest of his life or deciding to go to college and get a degree in sales.
The recreational center would be specifically designed to keep teenagers away from the negative influences that are thrown at them from every angle throughout their high school years. To add to that, building a recreational center in the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills area would benefit the community and create a better future for the teens. They will be able to socialize and avoid negative peer pressures, and build learning skills that will be useful throughout their entire lives. These simple baby steps can help create successful and progressive generation to look forward to.
