Elginbull; A man said he was held up at gunpoint Friday night in Wing Park, with one of the suspect's hitting him in the face with the semiautomatic gun, police said. Reports said four suspects stole $700 in cash and the man's mobile phone valued at $200. Reports also said the incident occurred at 9 p.m. One suspect was described as a tall white man, another as a Hispanic man with long hair and the third as a short, heavyset Hispanic man. No description was available on the fourth suspect. Police said the victim, who had blood around his nose and mouth, repeatedly refused medical attention.bull; Police reported numerous violations during a surprise walk through of the bar at La Movida nightclub early Sunday morning and also cited a teenager for underage drinking. According to police reports: two people were cooking and selling tacos on a frying grill near a locked fire door and without a license from the Kane County Health Department and without proper equipment to extinguish a grease fire; two fire doors were locked; security officers were not checking anyone's identification; nobody was writing down the names of minors in a log book; security was not manning any of the entrances and exits, which meant anyone could enter the bar without question; several people were drinking alcohol outside and nobody was controlling access between the main bar and the smaller bar. As well, Gildardo Escamillo-Olivares, 19, of the 400 block of Laurel Street, Elgin, was cited for underage drinking, police said. Between 500 and 600 people were in the bar, a number that included infants in strollers and teenagers, police said. La Movida is in the 800 block of North State Street.bull; A 10-foot by 4-foot snowplow blade, an endloader bucket and two pallets of calcium chloride for winter de-icing were stolen between Tuesday and Thursday from a storage lot in the 1400 block of Abbott Drive, police said.bull; Someone stole a laptop valued at $1,300, a digital camera valued at $350 and an $200 iPhone out of 1996 Jeep Cherokee parked Friday in the 2000 block of Fox Lane. Police said the suspect entered by breaking out the front passenger window.bull; On Sunday, several electronic items were taken from a car parked in the Metra lot on National Street, police said. The owner, a 26-year-old man, said he parked his 2004 Volkswagen Jetta in the lot at 5:45 a.m. and took the train to Chicago for a foot race. When he returned to the lot at 1:45 p.m., the man found his driver's door window smashed; an Alpine stereo head unit and iPod were missing. The doors were still locked.bull; Someone shattered a car window sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning on the 200 block of North Liberty Street, police said. The owner, a 45-year-old woman, said she last saw her 2000 Chevy Malibu at 10 p.m. Saturday. When she returned to the car around 9:20 a.m. Sunday, the rear driver's-side window had been smashed. Nothing was taken, and the doors were locked. There was nothing of value in the car. Police did not find any evidence.bull; A property was vandalized on the 100 block of North Lynch Street sometime between Saturday evening and Sunday morning, police said. The landlord, a 47-year-old woman, said sometime between 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday, four basement windows and one first-floor window were broken out at the property. Also, a cable TV line was cut, and a light fixture was damaged.bull; Jose M. Medina, 21, of the 2300 block of Coral Cove Court, Elgin was arrested and charged with theft of items worth more than $300, according to court records. Medina is accused of stealing a 32-inch flat-screen TV and a speaker, records show. Medina must post $2,500 to be released. His next court date is April 1.
