DVD collection offers up eight Ronald Reagan films

“Ronald Reagan Centennial Collection”

This collection of eight films is being released during the celebration of Ronald Reagan's 100th birthday. The former president made 50 films during his acting career, and this set features some of his best: “Dark Victory” with Bette Davis and Humphrey Bogart, “Knute Rockne All American” with Pat O'Brien, “King's Row” with Ann Sheridan, “Desperate Journey” with Errol Flynn, ”This is the Army” with George Murphy, “The Hasty Heart” with Patricia Neal, “Storm Warning” with Ginger Rogers and “The Winning Team” with Doris Day.

Also included are a variety of special features along with new transfers of the films.

“John Wayne: Bigger Than Life”

In the latest Harris Poll of favorite movie stars, John Wayne claimed the No. 3 spot. Wayne has the distinction of being the only actor to be on the list every year since 1994, even though he's been gone for more than 30 years. This three-disc collector's set includes the film “McLintock!” and three documentaries: “Bigger Than Life,” The American West of John Ford” and “No Substitute for Victory.” Also included are TV appearances.

“Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer”

When Eliot Spitzer was attorney general of New York state, he vowed to clean up Wall Street and put some of the wealthiest people behind bars. His take-no-prisoners style of politics made him a rising star, and the people of the state elected him governor. He rubbed many the wrong way, and this fascinating story shows us how easy it is to fall from grace. He got caught up in a prostitution ring, and the documentary plays out like a spy thriller. Through interviews and footage of what happened at the time, “Client 9” does a great job of showing how power corrupts.

“Zorro: The Complete Series”

Available on DVD for the first time, “Zorro” aired on The Family Channel for four seasons and starred Duncan Regehr as Don Diego de la Vega, known as Zorro the Fox. He was quick to defend the innocent and attack the guilty. The 14-disc set includes all 88 remastered episodes, behind-the scenes footage, “The Mark of Zorro” silent film with Douglas Fairbanks, Chapter One of the 1939 theatrical serial “Zorro's Fighting Legion,” trailers for other Zorro serials, the never-before-released pilot for “New World Zorro” and a photo gallery.
