Water main break in Algonquin

Seven residences along Hillside View Drive in Algonquin have their water shut off after a water main break this morning, said Mike Kumbera, management assistant for the village.

Crews are currently excavating to repair the problem, and water services are expected to be restored by 5 p.m. today, Kumbera said. The problem was first reported around 10 a.m., he said.

While crews are working, Hillside View Drive will be closed from Beach Drive to Hillside Court, he said. No information was immediately available on the cause of the break.
