Baseball: Geneva rolls past Prospect; Marmion rallies
Geneva dominated Prospect on Saturday, scoring in every inning except the fourth of a 14-5 victory.
The Vikings scored 3 runs in the first, third, fifth and sixth innings. They finished with 10 hits and made just 1 error.
Leadoff hitter Luke Fisher went 3-for-3 and scored 4 runs. Jackson Chase drove in a pair. Nick Black went 2-for-3 and drove in 4 runs.
Blake Breon pitched the first 2 2/3 innings, earning the win while striking out three and allowing three earned runs. Jonah Hays pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings, and Sam Sanchez finished the final 2 innings.
Aurora Christian 6, Lisle 4: Hunter Thompson picked up the win for the Eagles, striking out five. Trey Madsen doubled as part of a 3-for-3 day with 2 RBI. Thompson also had 2 RBI.
Marmion 5, Neuqua Valley 4: The Cadets scored twice in the bottom of the seventh for the win. Nick Talarico doubled in the tying run, and Tony Mele singled in the winning run, scoring Lucas Sagstetter.
Dillon DiIorio went 3-for-4 with 3 runs. Talarico and Mele both had 2 hits.
Lyons 4, St. Charles East 0: The Saints made 4 errors in the nonconference loss. They were outhit 6-5.
West Aurora 12, Romeoville 2: Darrin Hartkopp went 4-for-4, Anthony Malczyk was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and Alec Losselyoung went 2-for-4 with 2 runs to lead West Aurora. Paulo Maravillo drove in 3 runs.
Eddie Wilson pitched the first 5 innings allowing 4 hits and no runs while striking out seven.
