Glen Ellyn's Shurna makes Wooden Top 30

Northwestern junior forward John Shurna of Glen Ellyn has been selected to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 30 list, which was announced Thursday by the Los Angeles Athletic Club.

Shurna is joined on the top 30 list by fellow Big Ten players E'Twaun Moore and JaJuan Johnson of Purdue, Demetri McCamey of Illinois, Jon Leuer of Wisconsin and Jared Sullinger of Ohio State.

Selected by the Wooden Award National Advisory Board, the list is made up of 30 student-athletes who, based on their performances in November and December, are the early frontrunners for college basketball's most prestigious honor.

Despite being limited of late due to an ankle injury, Shurna still paces the Big Ten with an average of 21.3 points per game. His .583 3-point field goal percentage is the second-best mark in the nation.
