MainStreet Libertyville celebreates Dickens of a Holiday

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 7 and 14, downtown Libertyville will bustle with holiday festivities.

Each week Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in Cook Park and look forward to visiting with all the children from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m.

It is an ideal setting for a holiday photo, followed by a trip to the Children’s Holiday Shoppe across the street at Petraneks Pharmacy, 426 N. Milwaukee Ave. There, the “elves” look forward to helping your little ones with their Christmas shopping. All gifts are budget friendly and priced at $5 or less.

The elegant Annual Victorian Tea is held at St. Lawrence Episcopal Church, beautifully appointed for the holidays, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday.

The authentic English tea, which includes pastries, tea sandwiches and scones with Devonshire cream, is served by hostesses in period dress. The cost is $35. Make your reservations early, as it is always a sellout. Call the MainStreet office at (847) 680-0336 or visit online Calendar of Events, Dickens of a Holiday, at www.mainstreetlibertyville.org to register.
