These freedoms have gone way too far
I have to agree with all of the Republican politicians, the Cantors and McConnells, the DeMints, the Welshes, the Dolds, the Romneys and, of course, the Santorums. Of course, it is ridiculous to allow women to make up their own minds on the subject of contraception. It certainly is the province of the government to decide whether or not, and how, and when women should be able to make such a decision. (Of course, it does create a problem when we oppose every government action and responsibility, concepts that promote “big government” and yet, we choose to have the government decide the question of whether we should allow the use of contraceptives, and if not, how should we punish those who practice it?)
But that is another problem; let’s get back to the question. It is the position of the Republican Party and its politicians that women must not be allowed to practice that procedure and, again, I have to agree. In fact, I fear they do not go far enough. For example, the idea that women should be allowed to drive motor vehicles is ... well, criminal. Everyone knows women can’t drive!
Further, women should not be allowed to testify on the merits of a national health care system, nor should they be able to comment on retaining Social Security (unless, of course, they agree to privatize it, and turn it over to Wall Street and the bankers of America).
And let’s not forget the supreme sin we allow throughout the country, that is, allowing women to vote. Vote, alone, in the voting booth! Egad!
America, let us rally behind our Republican leaders and put an end to these ridiculous freedoms which, of course, are all mortal sins.
