Palatine library closed due to COVID-19
The Palatine Public Library, closed to the public since late November, will be closed entirely through Sunday because a number of staff members were diagnosed with COVID-19 recently, officials said. The closure began Monday.
No members of the public have been allowed in the building since Nov. 23, when the library started offering only curbside pickup and virtual programs. Only the library staff and the construction company working on library renovations has been inside since Nov. 23, library spokeswoman Andrea Lublink said.
"We have done contact tracing with all COVID positive staff, and no one from the public has been in contact with any of those staff," she said.
The library had about 200 curbside appointments per day, except Sunday, Lublink said. This week's appointments were rescheduled for the same day and time next week, starting Jan. 18.
