Elgin police investigate shots fired report

Elgin residents called police to report multiple shots fired about 3 a.m. Saturday on the 400 block of Sunset Drive.

Officers were unable to locate any witnesses and didn't find evidence that anything had been struck by the bullets; however, shell casings were recovered in the area.

Detectives from department's Major Investigation Division are investigating. Anyone with information is being asked to call (847) 289-2600.
