Closer look at economic picture

Recent polls show that a majority of Americans are pessimistic about the future of the economy. Is it because inflation has been falling each month and now stands at 3.1%, on its way to the target rate of 2.0%? No. Is it because unemployment is at all time lows? Or that the stock market is at historic highs? No, and no.

It's because every Republican politician lies about the state of the economy every chance they get. They refuse to acknowledge the facts, and shout about how inflation is squeezing American's pocket books. Sure the prices on some goods remain high, but prices go up every year, regardless. We can't expect to go back to the prices of three years ago. This rarely happens in any economy.

As we all go out and spend at record levels this holiday season, maybe it's time to take a closer look at the economic picture.
