America defeats Seattle 3-1 to advance to the semifinals

MEXICO CITY (AP) - Reigning champion America rallied to defeat the Seattle Sounders 3-1 on Wednesday night to qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals for the second year in a row.

Paraguayan Pablo Aguilar scored on his own goal in the 41st minute, but Colombian Carlos Darwin Quintero leveled things in the 42nd and Oribe Peralta put the Aguilas ahead in the 45th.

Colombian Andres Andrade sealed the score in the 50th for America, which won the series on a 5-3 aggregate and will play the Torreon Santos in one of the semifinals.

Queretaro will play against the winner of the Tigres-Real Salt Lake quarterfinal series.

America is trying to become the first team to win back-to-back championships since Monterrey (2010-11 until 2012-13).

Seattle lost in the semifinals for the second time in their history.
