Leicester defender ordered to serve a 21-day curfew

MANCHESTER, England (AP) - Leicester defender Danny Simpson will miss part of the team's Premier League title-winning celebrations and a post-season trip to Thailand after being ordered to serve a curfew for choking his former girlfriend.

A judge in Manchester said Simpson must start his curfew immediately. He must be at his home from 10 p.m.-6 a.m. for the next 21 days.

The 29-year-old Simpson was handed the curfew because he has only completed half of the 300 hours of unpaid work in the community for which he was sentenced last June for assaulting the mother of his child at their house in 2014.

Leicester has a function planned on Sunday night after its last game of the season, at Chelsea. The team travels to Thailand on Tuesday.
