Pearson back in management at 2nd-tier club Derby
DERBY, England (AP) - Nigel Pearson has been hired as the manager of second-tier English club Derby for his first job since being fired by Leicester during the last offseason.
Pearson's reputation has remained high after laying the foundations for Leicester's title-winning season in the Premier League this season.
He has signed a three-year deal as the permanent successor to Paul Clement, who was fired in February.
Also in the League Championship on Friday, Reading fired Brian McDermott after the team's 17th-place finish this season. It was his second spell in charge at Reading.
