Slovakia plays Northern Ireland to 0-0 in Euro warmup
TRNAVA, Slovakia (AP) - Slovakia and Northern Ireland played to a goalless draw on Saturday in the final warmup for the maiden European Championship for both sides.
Slovakia mostly had the upper hand.
Robert Mak wasted one of the best Slovak opportunities five minutes before the interval when he had only Northern Ireland's Michael McGovern to beat, and Vladimir Weiss missed the target in a similar position two minutes into the second half.
At the other end, Matus Kozacik saved a low shot by substitute striker Conor Washington on a fast counterattack.
Slovakia starts Euro 2016 against Wales on June 11 in Bordeaux, France.
Northern Ireland plays Poland the next day in Nice.
