Award-winning PBS historian to speak at Barrington White House
Geoffrey Baer, the Emmy-award winning PBS architectural historian, will speak at the Barrington White House about local architecture and history on Sunday, March 13.
According to a news release, Baer, who has worked at WTTW for 27 years, enjoys bringing his stories, enthusiasm and conversational style to public gatherings. He also readily admits his limitations.
"People often don't realize that I can go into any community and there's always going to be some 50-year resident who knows more about the local history than I do," Baer said in a statement.
The event begins at 3 p.m. at 145 W. Main St. Admission is $25 and tickets are available at barringtonwhitehouse.com.
