Vivians leads No. 11 Mississippi State to 71-52 win over LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Victoria Vivians scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds and No. 11 Mississippi State took control early en route to a 71-52 win over LSU on Thursday night.

Morgan William scored 11 points and Dominique Dillingham 10 for the Bulldogs (20-7, 7-3 SEC), who outscored the Tigers (8-15, 2-8) 20-6 in the second quarter to take a 30-16 lead.

After a free throw by Alexis Hyder put LSU up 11-10, Williams hit a 3-pointer and a layup to start a 9-0 spurt. After another LSU free throw, Dillingham scored four straight as the Tigers missed their first seven shots of the second quarter.

Mississippi State, which has won three straight, upped the lead to 49-26 after three quarters.

Shanice Norton had 15 points for the Tigers, who had lost three straight, and Rina Hill added 10.
