Kane County

• Ramon Ayala, 30, of the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue, Carpentersville, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and attempted fleeing and eluding after a traffic stop at 6:30 p.m. May 30 on the 0-99 block of Wren Road near East Dundee, according to a sheriff's report.

• Caitlin K. Ayala, 26, of the 500 block of Columbia Avenue, Elgin, was charged with felony marijuana possession and possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owner's Identification card at 1:14 p.m. Saturday after deputies went to her apartment on Columbia to serve an order of protection to a 23-year-old male who lives at that address, according to a sheriff's report.

Carpentersville

• A resident reported Monday that someone attempted to break into her house in the 200 block of Butte Lane overnight, police said. The screen had been bent and removed from a bedroom window, and police say it appears someone stood on an overturned bucket to try entering the house.

• A resident in the 0-100 block of Aspen Lane reported Monday that someone keyed her vehicle and released the air from two tires overnight, police said.

• Hugo Rodriguez, 29, of Carpentersville, was charged Sunday with driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. Officers found him asleep at the wheel of a vehicle at Ball Avenue and Route 25. His next court date is June 28.

• Chauncey C. Reddy, 47, of Barrington, was charged Sunday with retail theft, Carpentersville police said. He is accused of stealing $140 worth of merchandise from Walmart on Lake Marian Road.

• Yenisey Gonzalez-Martinez, 32, of Florida, was charged Sunday with retail theft, Carpentersville records show. She is accused of stealing $77 worth of merchandise from Walmart.

• Nicole Hochfeld, 35, of Carpentersville, was charged Sunday with retail theft, police said. She is accused of stealing $39 worth of groceries from Walmart.

• Julian X. Martinez, 19, of Hanover Park, was charged Sunday with retail theft, Carpentersville police said. He is accused of stealing two shirts, valued at $45 total, from Kohl's in Spring Hill Mall.

• Roberto Chavez, 35, of Elgin, was charged Friday with possession of cannabis, Carpentersville police said. He is accused of having 1.5 grams of a substance containing marijuana in his vehicle.
