Kenya's Olympic track team manager released on bail

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - Kenya's High Court has released on bail the manager of the country's Olympic track and field team who is being investigated on allegations that he helped athletes cover up doping.
Michael Rotich was sent home from the Rio Olympics by Kenyan authorities after the British newspaper The Sunday Times reported allegations that he agreed to take a 10,000 pound ($13,000) payment to help athletes beat doping tests.
High Court Judge Luka Kimaru Friday overturned an earlier decision by a Magistrates Court that granted police authority to hold Michael Rotich for 28 days while completing investigations into the allegations. Kimaru said the decision to hold Rotich wasn't based in law. Kimaru granted Rotich bail of $2,000.
