Large Turnout at the Elk Grove Village Police Department's 2nd Neighborhood Watch Meeting
On Wednesday August 21, eighty residents filled the room at the Elk Grove Police Department's 2nd Neighborhood Watch Meeting. The meeting kicked off with a special welcome from Police Chief Charles Walsh and included presentations from the Elk Grove Village Fire Department and the Police Department Crime Prevention section. Lt. Denna of the Fire Department shared information about "MyID Bracelets"- free digital medical bracelets for seniors, that contain medical and contact information for emergency personnel to access during an emergency, fire safety tips, and the upcoming 2019 Citizen's Fire Academy. Crime Prevention Officer Meredith Sloan touched upon a wide variety of crime and safety topics such as new Illinois laws, address visibility, and how to protect yourself from current crime trends. There was a great turnout for the event, and residents enjoyed asking questions and taking part in the community-wide discussion.
