Aurora man charged with 2 tanning salon burglaries
A 30-year-old Aurora man has been charged with two October 2015 break-ins and burglaries at an Aurora L.A. Tan and is a suspect in three more, police said.
David S. Langford, of the 1300 block of Monoma Avenue, was charged last week with two felony counts of burglary and criminal damage to property in connection with break-ins Oct. 19 and 25 at the L.A. Tan, 405 N. Eola Road, police said Monday.
In both burglaries, Langford is accused of breaking through a large window around 11 p.m. and stealing an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, police said. Damage to the windows was estimated at $2,000.
Aurora police said Langford also is a suspect in an Aug. 2, 2015, break-in at the same L.A. Tan, along with two other L.A. Tan locations in Aurora: 2124 W. Galena Blvd. on Oct. 18 and at 2902 Kirk Road on Sept. 14.
Police said investigations continue into the three incidents and residents with information should call police at (630) 256-5500.
Langford has been held at the Kane County jail on $35,000 bail since early November 2015 on a resisting arrest charge.
According to Kane County court records, Langford also has pending charges against him for making a telephone threat, forgery and criminal damage to property. His next court date on the L.A. Tan burglary charges was not immediately available, but he is next due in court Jan. 26 on a forgery case.
If convicted, he faces three to seven years in prison on each of the forgery charges.
