Wyoming losses in WNIT quarterfinal

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Wyoming fell to Arizona 67-45 on Sunday in the quarterfinals of the WNIT at Tucson.

The Cowgirls struggled from the field and didn't hit its first 3-point goal until the fourth quarter.

The Cowgirls end their season with a 25-9 record, becoming just the second team to make it to the WNIT quarterfinals.

Coach Joe Legerski says the team is disappointed in seeing its season come to an end but he noted it compiled the second most wins in the 45 years of Cowgirl basketball.

The Cowgirls were led by senior Sladjana Rakovic, who paced Wyoming with 12 points and seven rebounds.

Senior Bailee Cotton added 10 points and six rebounds.

The Cowgirls shot 31.4 percent (16-51) from the field, including 2-of-12 from the 3-point line.
