Illinois Wesleyan plans 3 days of inaugural events
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - Three days of special events are planned to mark the inauguration of a new president at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington.
Eric Jensen has been working at the school since November after being named president in September. He replaced Dick Wilson who retired. Wilson will speak at the Saturday afternoon inauguration ceremony.
The (Bloomington) Pantagraph reports (http://bit.ly/25uHBNr ) Jensen's inauguration will be followed by a barbecue with bluegrass music.
Several events are planned leading up to the investiture ceremony. On Thursday evening, Juan Salgado, a 1991 Illinois Wesleyan graduate, will speak. Salgado received a MacArthur Foundation "genius grant" last year for his work with low-income immigrant communities.
Friday's events include a panel discussion featuring other successful alumni, an art exhibit and a concert.
