Police release name of Chicago man killed in southeast Iowa

BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a Chicago man who was fatally wounded in southeast Iowa.

Police say the man was shot during a confrontation with a man in another vehicle Tuesday morning in Burlington. The fatally wounded man drove from the scene but crashed a block away.

The Hawk Eye reports (http://bit.ly/2gEbCtg ) that police identified him as 28-year-old Breion Combs. Police haven't reported any arrests in his shooting.

Officers responding to the crash scene soon heard shots coming from about a block away. A man who apparently was wounded in that shooting turned up later at a hospital in West Burlington and was flown to a hospital in Iowa City. He's been identified as 35-year-old James Griffin, also of Chicago.

Three suspects in his shooting were arrested.
