‘Good Neighbors’ theme of Jan. 4 Lake County History Symposium
"Good Neighbors: Making a Difference in Lake County" is the theme of the 9th annual Lake County History Symposium to be held on Zoom from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 4 and 18.
A diverse array of historians will give engaging presentations during the annual event that unites individuals with a shared passion for Lake County history.
Stories include the empowering legacy of a women's club and anecdotes of random acts of kindness. The life and times of Samuel Insull (1859-1938), a prominent businessman who made a mark in Lake County with the construction of a country estate known as the Cuneo Mansion, also will be discussed.
Three presentations will be held each evening and breakout rooms will be open for questions and engage and dialogue. All ages are welcome. USG is sponsoring the free event. Registration is required for each day.
