Plea deal again rejected for teen charged after drug deaths

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - A northern Indiana judge has again rejected a plea agreement for a teenager accused of bringing drugs to a party that two brothers attended before dying of overdoses.

Authorities say 19-year-old Kyle Treber was never linked directly to the drugs in the deaths of Nick and Jack Savage of Granger. Treber entered a guilty plea in December on a count of possessing narcotics, and prosecutors agreed to drop three counts of dealing narcotics and that his 2 ˆ½-year sentence would be served on probation.

St. Joseph Superior Court Judge Jane Woodward Miller denied the agreement last month, expressing concerns it didn't let her decide whether he would get prison time.

The South Bend Tribune (http://bit.ly/1QfQfIZ ) reports Woodward Miller rejected another deal Wednesday that would let her send Treber to prison for a maximum of six months.
