Firefighters extinguish chimney fire in Deer Park

Lake Zurich firefighters quickly extinguished a chimney fire at a Deer Park house on the 0-100 block of Ferndale Road late Thanksgiving evening.

Firefighters were dispatched at about 7:15 p.m. Crews were on scene for about two hours, according to fire officials.

No injuries were reported and Lake Zurich Fire Department officials did not have an estimate on damage to the home.

Lake-Cook Road was closed near the scene for roughly two hours.
