Police make arrest in hit-and-run death of teen in Marion

MARION, Ind. (AP) - Police in Marion say they've arrested a man in connection with the death of a teenager in a hit-and-run collision.

Police say they've charged 20-year-old Pedro G. Garcia of Marion with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death following the crash Thursday that killed 16-year-old Reamey Bell of Sweetser.

Bell died outside a Marion home where she had been staying.

A witness, 44-year-old Teresa Wilkerson of Marion, told police she saw the girl run to the back of a car parked in the driveway of the house about 5:30 a.m. As Wilkerson drove by, the other car abruptly backed out and pinned the girl between the two vehicles. The impact of the collision caused Wilkerson's vehicle to spin about 180 degrees, and the other car drove away.
