Baseball: Geneva blows out St. Charles North

Nick Black, Luke Fisher and Ryan Stempowski hit home runs to lead Geneva to an 11-1, five-inning victory over St. Charles North in the DuKane Conference.

Ben Croci did not allow a hit and struck out 3 in 3 scoreless innings to earn the win for Geneva (8-7-1, 2-3), which snapped a four-game losing slide. John Hamer took the loss for St. Charles North (9-6, 4-1).

Glenbard North 4, Batavia 2: Jack Meyers doubled but the Bulldogs were limited to 5 hits in DuKane action. Losing pitcher Dylan Schick allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits. He did not issue a walk and struck out 6 in 6 innings for Batavia (8-6, 2-3).

St. Charles East 11, Wheaton Warrenville South 2: Thomas Schroeder hit a solo home run and Cole Conn, Ben Testo and Gino Cerrone doubled to lead a 12-hit attack. Alec Rupp, who closed Tuesday's series-opening win, started and pitched 5 innings for the win. He held the Tigers to 2 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks and struck out a pair for St. Charles East (9-3-1, 4-1).

Cary-Grove 20, Dundee-Crown 1: Ethan Estes went 3-for-5 with a triple and drove in 6 runs to lead a 22-hit barrage by Cary-Grove (11-4, 5-2) in the Fox Valley. Winning pitcher Ryan Weaver threw all 6 innings and finished with 9 strikeouts. Justin Colon drove in the only run for Dundee-Crown (4-12, 0-8).

South Elgin 8, Larkin 1: Winning pitcher Patrick Roy threw a 4-hitter with 12 strikeouts and the Storm scored 5 seventh-inning runs to pull away in the Upstate Eight. Garrett Wano (RBI) and Logan Romasanta (2 RBI) each doubled twice and Patrick Keaty doubled and drove in 3 runs for South Elgin (10-2, 8-1). Zach Hubbard accounted for 2 of the 4 hits by Larkin (1-14, 0-9).

West Aurora 17, East Aurora 5: Paulo Maravino hit 2 home runs and pitched 2 innings of scoreless relief and every Blackhawk starter had a hit in an Upstate Eight rivalry win. Adrian Ruiz had 3 hits, including a double for West Aurora (11-4-1, 7-2-1).

Streamwood 13, West Chicago 5: Connor Johnson pitched a 5-hitter, issued a walk and struck out 9 to lift the Sabres in the Upstate Eight. Anthony Caruso (2 RBI) and Justin Gonzalez (3 RBI) homered for Streamwood (6-4,8-7).

Jacobs 17, St. Edward 7: Bryan Belo, Daniel Klein, Kyle Washington and Luke Holub each enjoyed 3-hit games in a nonconference matchup that was tied 5-5 through four innings. Winning pitcher Shayne McCullough struck out 6 in 4 innings for Jacobs (7-10). Aidan Pomeroy (2-for-4) doubled for St. Edward (7-10).

Benet Academy 8, Marmion 1: Aiden Williams tripled and Lucas Sagstetter doubled in a losing cause for Marmion (4-5) in nonconference play.
