Stokes scores twice in Prospect's shutout win
Shawna Stokes had a goal in each half to help Prospect's girls soccer team claim a 2-0 victory over visiting Wheaton North on Tuesday.
Ashley Welk and Andy Marfilius provided the assists on Stokes' goal.
Coach Tom Froats said his back-liners - Marissa Valentini, Natalie Marfilius, Grace Johannesen and Kathryn Szukalla - anchored a strong defensive effort in front of keeper Mehgan Rickett.
• Rolling Meadows got a pair of goals from junior Kat Perille in picking up a 5-0 victory over visiting Glenbard South in nonconference play. Kelsey Nallon made a pair of saves to earn the shutout.
• St. Charles East scored 3 goals in the second half to earn a 3-0 victory over host Fremd in nonconference play.
