Anderson youth basketball league targets at-risk children
ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) - A new Anderson youth basketball league is making a splash in its first year of existence.
The (Anderson) Herald Bulletin (bit.ly/27IJS8O ) reports that a seventh-grade girls' team from the Anderson Basketball Association will play in a national tournament in Atlanta this summer.
The Lady Heat's coaches say the program for elementary and middle school boys and girls balances athletics with academics while filling a void in the hours after school and during the summer.
About 150 players are enrolled in the program this year.
