Driver crashes semitrailer after owl hits truck

COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) - A semitrailer driver lost control of his vehicle and it overturned into a ditch after a large flying owl struck his cab.

The (Columbus) Republic reports (http://bit.ly/28JVm7J) 22-year-old Patrick Molex of Ford Heights, Illinois, was driving early Monday in south central Indiana's Bartholomew County when the owl struck a driver's side window.

The startled driver lost control of the rig, which veered into a ditch and struck a culvert before rolling on its side.

Deputies found a dead owl on the floor of the tractor.

They talked to the driver about what happened but it's unclear if he was hurt in the accident.
