Drug disposal in Avon Township

State Rep. Sam Yingling, along with the Lake County Sheriff's Office and Avon Township, will be hosting a drug take back day from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Avon Township building, 433 E. Washington St., Round Lake Park. Residents can drop off unneeded and/or expired medications for disposal as part of an campaign with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and local law enforcement to provide disposal sites. According to the 2017 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, six million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs and the majority of those drugs were obtained through friends and family.
