Elk Grove to display Bahamas Bowl trophy at summer concerts
Elk Grove Village will display the official Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl trophy to the community as a special kickoff to the Mid-Summer Concert Series at the Independence Day concert.
This is the first time residents and members of the community will have the opportunity to view and take photos of the official trophy and player's helmet.
Elk Grove Village is the title sponsor of the 2019 Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl set to take place on Dec. 20. Makers Wanted is the tagline for the village. Last year, the village became the first non-tourist municipality to sponsor a bowl game, with the 2018 Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl.
"The sponsorship of the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl provides the opportunity to continue building the village's reputation globally," Mayor Craig Johnson said.
The trophy and player's helmet will be available at the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl tent from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Independence Day concert at 164 Lions Drive. The trophy and helmet also will be displayed throughout the Mid-Summer Concert Series, which takes place every Tuesday in July at 901 Wellington Ave.
