Baseball: Maine East hangs on against Maine West

Maine West rallied with 5 runs in the seventh inning but still came up just short, 13-12 against Maine East on Thursday in Central Suburban North baseball.

Cory Scholler doubled and tripled and finished 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored for the Warriors (5-9).

Nick Stone finished 2-for-3 and drove in 3 runs and Costa Paschos and Matty Mustari each had 2 RBI for Maine West.

Alden-Hebron 11, Christian Liberty 8: The Chargers rallied with 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh but couldn't catch Alden-Hebron, which came up with 7 runs in the fourth inning of their Northeastern Athletic Conference contest.

Josh Rolnicki was the winning pitcher and also had a double and a homer.

Christian Liberty got a triple from Mark Cabrera.
