Ceremony for new Gurnee school playground Sept. 14

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for Wednesday, Sept. 14, for a new playground at River Trail School in Gurnee. Officials from the Gurnee Park District as Gurnee Elementary District 56 will start the festivities at 9:15 a.m. The park system and District 56 worked together to build the playground at the school serving kindergarten through eighth grade. River Trail Principal Jennifer Glickley said playground upgrade will "further enhance learning for our students by allowing them to be more active throughout the school day."
