Endorsement for Mount Prospect Park Board: Doherty. Klicka, Murphy, Tenuta

Five candidates are running for four seats on the Mount Prospect park board in the April 2 election.

Chiropractic physician David Perns of Mount Prospect offers an earnest and constructive challenge in the race and no doubt would be an effective commissioner if elected. But he lacks the experience, and the insights that experience provides of the four incumbents.

Commissioner Bill Klicka of Des Plaines has been on the board for 24 years; Timothy Doherty of Des Plaines, for 18 years; Lisa Tenuta of Mount Prospect for eight years; and Michael Murphy of Mount Prospect for four years.

Klicka, Doherty, Tenuta and Murphy have operated as a good team to sustain and improve park district facilities and programs within the disciplined confines of the budget and we endorse them for re-election.
