5 injured in suburban Chicago nightclub shooting

DOLTON, Ill. (AP) - Police in a suburb just south of Chicago are investigating a shooting at a nightclub that left five men injured.

The Daily Southtown (http://trib.in/2qkjmCK ) reports that authorities in Dolton say the shooting happened at the Club One nightclub at 3 a.m. on Sunday when a man pulled a gun from a woman's purse and opened fire. They say the alleged gunman was later shot as he ran from the club.

All the victims were taken to an area hospital. Police would not comment on the shooting or say if any arrests had been made.

Later on Sunday, village officials held a news conference to say that there have been complaints about the club before and that they would urge the mayor to close it down.
