Illinois jury convicts Pennsylvania man child sex charges

ST. CHARLES, Ill. (AP) - An Illinois jury has found a 38-year-old Pennsylvania man guilty of travelling to suburban Chicago to have sex with children.

A Thursday statement from prosecutors says jurors convicted Shane R. Lewis of involuntary sexual servitude of a minor, traveling to meet a minor and grooming. The Kane County jury deliberated for about two hours before reaching the verdict Wednesday.

Prosecutors say the Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, man was in the area for business in 2015 and travelled to an Aurora hotel thinking he would meet girls he believed were 14- and 15-years-old. He was arrested after he handed $200 to someone he thought was their mother.

Lewis faces a minimum of six years in prison. His next hearing is Sept. 22, when the judge will consider sentence-related motions.
