Rooney hosting fraud seminar in Prospect Heights

State Sen. Tom Rooney and the Illinois Comptroller's Office will host a fraud prevention seminar to help residents avoid identity theft and other scams.

The event is 10 a.m. Thursday in the Prospect Heights board room at 8 N. Elmhurst Road.

Other topics will include checking credit reports, rights under new credit card rules and filing consumer fraud complaints.

The event is free.
