Yes, get serious about gun control
I completely agree with your Feb. 15 "Protect Our Children" opinion about getting serious on gun control.
There are more shootings in schools than we realize. If there are no injuries, open gunfire shootings don't make national news, but these children are traumatized.
I'm asking that you write to your governor, senator and state representative. Ask them to create a task force with the best minds, experienced security experts, counselors and community leaders. Set an agenda with a timeline. Have open hearings with the NRA and gun control folks. These meetings should be televised so Americans can get a true sense of why laws aren't being changed. Gun violence must stop.
