Equality Downers Grove celebrates Pride Month
The community organization Equality Downers Grove is commemorating LGBTQ+ Pride Month by teaming up with local stores and restaurants.
Local artists are painting windows of multiple businesses downtown. And select businesses like Louisa's & Millie's, Fair Game, and Anderson's Bookshop are selling pride merchandise.
Pride Picnics-To-Go are being sold by Cadence, The Foxtail, and Pierce Tavern each weekend in June. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Youth Outlook, a social service agency solely dedicated to the support of LGBTQ+ youth.
A Youth Outlook drop-in center is in the works to open in Downers Grove in the fall of 2021, offering support for youth, parents and community education.
