Des Plaines Toastmasters group presents ACS Awards

Park Ridge resident Ralph Dellar and Arlington Heights resident Cathy Stroh earned Advanced Communicator Silver awards at a recent meeting of Des Plaines Toastmasters Club #1645, which was held at the Des Plaines Public Library.

Dellar joined the club in April 1994, and is the longest continuing member of the club. He currently serves as club president, vice president of public relations and website administrator.

Stroh joined the club in May 2016. She currently serves as club vice president of education. Stroh has also been a member of UOP Toastmasters #8623 since June 2008, where she also serves as club president.

Des Plaines Toastmasters #1645 usually meets the first and third Mondays of the month in Room A at Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood. In July, the club will meet the third and fifth Monday due to the July 4 holiday.

All meeting dates can be found on the club's website, http://1645.toastmastersclubs.org/directions.html, as well as on a flyer at Des Plaines Public Library. Drop-in guests are welcome to visit.

After joining, all new members are immediately assigned an experienced member as mentor-coach to orient them into Toastmasters; to coach them for their first few speeches; and to prepare them to perform club meeting leadership roles.
