Workshop to help young women make healthy choices scheduled at NCH

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (July 18, 2016) - M. Susan Scanlon, M.D., a board-certified gynecologist on staff at Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) and author of "The Gyne's Guide for College Women," is hosting a workshop to help young women and their mothers discuss critical health choices during high school and college.

The workshop, Making Healthy Choices Away From Home, is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at Northwest Community Hospital meeting room 1-6, 800 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights. Registration is required.

Dr. Scanlon will discuss how to maintain a healthy weight, the importance of self-respect, steps to reduce stress, safe alcohol use, sexual assault prevention and sexually transmitted diseases, among other topics.
