Police seek identity of body found in Mississippi River

COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the Mississippi River, near Venice, Illinois.

Authorities are requesting help identifying the man who had tattoos on his chest reading "Zachary" and "Family Forever."

The body was found Saturday and removed from the river by the Madison Fire Department. The body was taken to the Madison County Morgue.

The death is being investigated by the Illinois State Police and the Venice Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Illinois State Police in Collinsville.
