Schaumburg Christian makes Class 1A regional final

In its first foray into the IHSA postseason, Schaumburg Christian's boys basketball team will play for a regional title.

The Conquerors won their second playoff game Wednesday at Christian Liberty in the Class 1A regional semfinal round, ousting Deerfield Rochelle Zell 41-37.

Third-seeded Schaumburg Christian (17-4) will play No. 2 seed Westminster Christian (18-9) in the regional title game at 7 p.m. Friday.

Westminster Christian advanced by winning its Wednesday semifinal 81-53 against Islamic Foundation (Villa Park).
