Discovered Shelby County remains belonged to white woman
SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say human remains found this week in central Indiana were those of a white woman.
Maj. Louie Koch of the Shelby County Sheriff's Department said the woman's identity is still unknown.
The sheriff's department says a passerby found the remains Monday in the southwestern corner of the county and contacted law enforcement.
It says University of Indianapolis anthropologists and Indiana State Police troopers were able to recover the remains.
Other information about the remains hasn't been released.
Shelby County is southeast of Indianapolis.
