YWCA Aurora to offer parent workshop on bullying
The YWCA Aurora has partnered with the East Aurora Unit District 131 to provide the "Parent Workshop on Bullying Prevention."
This interactive workshop will raise awareness and educate parents on the negative impact of bullying, providing them with resources to address bullying situations.
Over the course of several weeks, participants will review and discuss a documentary film on bullying, work directly with a licensed clinical social worker who is an expert on bullying prevention, and participate in group activities which include scenarios that will enable them to learn techniques to address bullying.
Participants will include parents of students who attend the 21st Century after-school program, and upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate. This program is open to all parents at each selected East Aurora school as space allows. The presentation will be provided in both English and Spanish. Participants will receive a light snack. Child care will be provided with a light snack.
All meetings will be held from 5:45 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays:
