Real reason for impeachment?

Writing because I loved the question posed by Mr. Roger Williams. It is a very interesting question, indeed, and from what I have heard, we might be getting the answer to that question - even before Nancy Pelosi sees fit to finally give the articles of impeachment to the Senate. Another question is why the Democrats rushed to impeachment on President Trump in the first place? I heard someone say that if a POTUS were to be impeached, then they would be unable to appoint someone to the U.S. Supreme Court. I think this might be a true and logical explanation to Nancy Pelosi's behavior.
